Kirkton Wind Farm Ltd (Wind2) sponsored the annual Melvich Novice Dog trial, which took place on Kirkton Farm on Saturday 25^th October 2025.

Wind2 has submitted a planning application to The Highland Council for the Swarclett Wind Farm, located on agricultural land approximately 1km southeast of Mains of Durran, Castletown, Caithness.

On 26th October 2024, the annual Melvich Novice Dog Trials took place on Kirkton Farm, with Wind2, through Kirkton Wind Farm Ltd, as the main sponsor. The trials drew 17 dogs competing in a series of challenging tasks that tested their herding abilities.
